I was talking to my friend Scott on the phone the other day and I mentioned some books I thought he might like reading. Figured I’d archive the list here for easy reference. This is definitely not a comprehensive list, just a list of books that have been helpful to me. There’s another list of books that I’d like to read, but that’s another post…

• The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence. Online version is here but if you get hardcopy, be sure to get the version with the Frank Laubach essays.
• A Testament of Devotion by Thomas Kelly
• The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard (marginally mystical, but awesome nonetheless)
• Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster
• Can’t go wrong with either Henri Nouwen or Thomas Merton
• Everything Belongs by Richard Rohr
• The Little Flowers of St. Francis of Assisi
• Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis
• Lots more in the mysticism category of CCEL

There are so many others I’d like to list, but some are hard to find. Maybe another list another day…
